Hmmm. Which one is the 642M? How does it compare to 642ME which I could set up without problems. > I need configuration help 642ME: - 'standard': just set up a dhcp client on the interface where the zyxel is connected. If the interfaces comes up and gets an IP address, point the browser to <IP-address that is mentioned in zyxel's manual> and follow the instructions. - 'advanced': switch the modem into 'modem' mode (using the web configurator, or the serial cable - the zyxel manual is usable, I found). Then set up pppoe (the Debian package has good instructions, you should have received all information from your internet provider). cheers -- vbi -- this email is protected by a digital signature: http://fortytwo.ch/gpg NOTE: keyserver bugs! get my key here: https://fortytwo.ch/gpg/92082481
