Hi,

If you didn't try it yet, I was amazed to discover that Weston
currently in Testing runs flawlessly on my Itanium workstation (r300g
driver).

>From a TTY, enter weston-launch to start up Weston (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace
to exit). Keyboard layout defaults to US.

>From X, enter weston in X terminal to start up Weston. Keyboard layout
is properly forwarded.

There's not so many things to play with at the moment: only
Wayland-native terminal. But Weston simply runs without a hitch,
including transparency effect, window zoom and rotation. If you run
Weston from within X, additional X (i.e. non-Wayland native)
applications can be started, so it seems that XWayland is running fine
too.

Kudos to people who made Wayland/Weston a reality on ia64. That's
definitely a good start.
