   Yes.  I believe HPUX requires the entire hard disk, so you will
probably need a separate hard disk to install Debian.   Otherwise it
should be a normal Debian install.  
I can confirm this: on my rx2600 I installed Linux first, then HP-UX on 
a second hard disk, and have no problems using either.
