Hello, Now is probably a good time to give an update on the 64bit front.
Thanks to Michael Tokarev's fast buildd boxes, we have finished building the Debian packages that we had at hand. There are 3809 packages waiting for some failing dependencies, to be compared with the 3086 packages that have that status for the 32bit port. The current missing big contenders, as seen on https://people.debian.org/~sthibault/hurd-amd64/graph-top.txt are openmpi, gst-plugins-bad1.0, and webkit2gtk. The cudf failure will be fixed by Guy's work on moving pthread symbols to libc.so, and java is a hopeless thing. I also ran a script that checks for packages that fail on 64bit but doesn't on 32bit. Quite a few of them are related to dumb issues (symbol list and such), but a few of them are worth noticing: https://buildd.debian.org/libtext-bidi-perl https://buildd.debian.org/armci-mpi https://buildd.debian.org/genimage https://buildd.debian.org/ifupdown-ng https://buildd.debian.org/libepoxy https://buildd.debian.org/libzstd https://buildd.debian.org/kquickcharts https://buildd.debian.org/pristine-lfs https://buildd.debian.org/golang-petname https://buildd.debian.org/jimtcl https://buildd.debian.org/pixman https://buildd.debian.org/contextfree https://buildd.debian.org/powerman https://buildd.debian.org/ruby-strptime https://buildd.debian.org/autogen https://buildd.debian.org/jpeg-xl Most of these have odd testsuite issues. These are probably worth investigating, because they are most probably issues in our 64bit port. Possibly quite a few of them are just symptoms of the same common bug. Help welcome on investigating them! Samuel
