I tried both the DVD installer iso and the net install ISO CD on
real hardware (old ACER X1930 boxes with 2Gb RAM, 500Gb HDD).
Both installers fail as unable to create /run/screen
Its probably an initrd issue - the graphical installer just hangs
on the language screen, text gives the error message.
At this stage its a bit of a long way round for me to go to
download a vanilla debian, and then all the extras to do a build from
scratch.
Please let me know when there is a working installer. I had a
mind to try to port Xtreemfs to hurd for testing and research for my
own use, though mostly I have AMD x64 boxes, I have 4 of these Acer
X1930s and wanted to build a cluster ( 4x G460 machines). I used to
play with openmosix, and just wanted something working to play with.
