Despite being in unstable for 41 days, the last version of libidn (IDN == Internationalized Domain Names, domain names in Unicode, see RFC 3490) is not yet in sarge.
This is because http://bjorn.haxx.se/debian/testing.pl?package=libidn says: Updating libidn makes 5 packages uninstallable due to depending on libidn: gsasl, mailutils, mutt, tin, whois All these packages have the proper dependency and are already compiled with the unstable version of libidn. Apparently, there is a problem only with the Hurd: http://packages.debian.org/unstable/net/whois shows a proper dependency for every arch but the Hurd. 1) Does anyone know why libidn does not compile on Hurd? buildd log http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?pkg=libidn indicates no attempt :-( 2) I though that Hurd was not formally released and therefore should not block to get into testing?
