I think several of the i386 diff's is due to some Go toolchain problem,
rather than a source-level problem.

The diff is a valid reproducibility problem, and shouldn't be ignored.
Maybe it cannot be fixed from within go-sendxmpp but instead the bug is
in some other package.  It only happens for a small number of packages,
though, and I don't know how to debug it further.
