Hello Maintainer,
The output of "getent --help" is not consistent with the manpage and the
option "--service=CONFIG" is not explained, nor the format of the config
file.
Also it would be nice, if the "DATABASE" could be arbitary and not only
ahosts ahostsv4 ahostsv6 aliases ethers group hosts netgroup
networks passwd protocols rpc services shadow
I have for example a flat database file "nfsservers" which contain the
USER/nfsserver maping like
michelle.konzack:x:samba3.private.tamay-dogan.net
which I use instead of a huge database.

The getent manpage is now part of the manpages package. It has been
completely rewritten, so I believe those issues have been fixed. I am
therefore closing the bug.
