I wonder if the following would make sense:
1) mkdir /lib64.real
2) symlink $(readlink -e /lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2) to
/lib64.real/ld-linux-x64-64.so.2
3) ln -s lib64.real /lib64.eglibc-tmp
4) mv -f /lib64.eglibc-tmp /lib64
5) clean up on next reboot
