I've redownloaded libc6-i686 multiple times with the same effect. However I've performed a second upgrade on another system and it worked in three steps: dpkg, libc6, all remaining. >> | dpkg-deb (subprocess): data: internal bzip2 read error: 'DATA_ERROR' >> | dpkg-deb: subprocess <decompress> returned error exit status 2 >> | dpkg-deb (subprocess): failed in write on buffer copy for failed to >> write to pipe in copy: Broken pipe > > The appearance of this error also points towards a likely local problem: > >> | Can't locate auto/Hash/Util/bootstpap.al in @INC (@INC contains: > > The copy of /usr/lib/perl/5.10/Hash/Util.pm shipped by perl-base 5.10.1-17 > (the version in both squeeze and sid) has line 34 as: > > bootstrap Hash::Util $VERSION; > > rather than the "bootstpap" in your error log. I've manually corrected this and the installation continued without error. I've reinstalled perl-base (from the old downloaded package in /var/cache/apt) and the new Util.pm file is correct. So a broken Debian repository mirror is not the issue. Thanks -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-glibc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
