Package: libjoda-time-java Version: 1.6-3 Severity: normal The package embeds timezone data (currently 2008i) and is used by other packages like JRuby for performance reasons or because of its greater functionality over plain Java. We should check how the timezone data can be kept up to date in the future. Upstream describes the update process at <http://joda-time.sourceforge.net/tz_update.html> but that means to recompile the package with every update. We should check
- if we could use tzdata-java directly, or - if the tzdata source package can provide the data in a format usable by joda-time (Cc-ing the tzdata maintainer). I have filed a bug report agains JRuby: <http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-4982>, too.
