As the Debian Architecture Bug Squash party continues this weekend, it is quite likely that additional info and/or patches may be added to this defect. The following build failure occured on ia64 (using gcc 2.96): See http://people.debian.org/~willy/common_bugs.html for more background information, and some additional information on deciphering the sometimes cryptic buildd database entries. If the bug is gcc 3.0 errors, then it is quite likely reproducable on other platforms. With gcc 3.0, of course. If the comment is about config.{guess, sub} then they're out of date, see the current autotools-dev package. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Kernel Version: Linux ia 2.4.5rgh1 #1 Sun Jun 24 20:39:18 MDT 2001 ia64 unknown base/util-linux_2.11g-4 by bdale-ia64 [required:out-of-date] Reasons for failing: [Category: none] ia64 doesn't support pivot_root, bug filed --------------------------------------- Received: (at 104227-done) by bugs.debian.org; 5 Jul 2004 11:07:14 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jul 05 04:07:14 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from omega.webmasters.gr.jp (webmasters.gr.jp) [218.44.239.78] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1BhRJZ-0005PF-00; Mon, 05 Jul 2004 04:07:14 -0700 Received: from omega.webmasters.gr.jp (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by webmasters.gr.jp (Postfix) with ESMTP id 29793DEB58; Mon, 5 Jul 2004 20:07:13 +0900 (JST) Date: Mon, 05 Jul 2004 20:07:13 +0900 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: GOTO Masanori <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], Adrian Bunk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, Martin Michlmayr <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: ia64 has problems with _syscall2 User-Agent: Wanderlust/2.9.9 (Unchained Melody) SEMI/1.14.3 (Ushinoya) FLIM/1.14.3 (=?ISO-8859-4?Q?Unebigory=F2mae?=) APEL/10.3 Emacs/21.2 (i386-debian-linux-gnu) MULE/5.0 (SAKAKI) MIME-Version: 1.0 (generated by SEMI 1.14.3 - "Ushinoya") Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: > It appears that ia64 does not support pivot_root, which makes the build fail > with > > install: cannot stat `mount/pivot_root': No such file or directory > > Marking it RC since this is a can't build from source and we intend to release > ia64 with woody. Nowadays we have woody. These bugs are too old. I believe they were already fixed, so I close these bugs. If you have objection, please reopen and explain what the problem is. Note that asm/unistd.h is derived from kernel headers. Regards, -- gotom
