Jeff,
   Debian ppc sid should be good to go for glibc 2.3.1. I
built the current glibc cvs last night with the debian sources
from the glibc 2.3 cvs (using those debian patches) and the
resulting glibc 2.3.1-cvs passes make check fine. Now that
binutils 2.10.93.0.10-1 is in debian sid, we have no issues
remaining to prevent ppc from doing a gcc 3.2.1/glibc 2.3.1
bulk rebuild of the packages in sid.
