Package: libc6 Version: 2.3.2.ds1-11 Severity: normal File: /lib/libc-2.3.2.so
With woody/libc6_2.2.5, libc.so.6 was executable; at testing/libc6_2.3.2 it is only readable. I note that executing the library directly provides useful version info, and this feature is used e.g. by the MATLAB software package. This seems to have been a deliberate change in testing: dpkg-deb -c libc6_2.2.5-6_i386.deb | grep 'lib/libc-2.2.5.so$' -rwxr-xr-x root/root 1153784 2002-04-28 19:57:33 ./lib/libc-2.2.5.so dpkg-deb -c libc6_2.3.2.ds1-13_i386.deb | grep 'lib/libc-2.3.2.so$' -rw-r--r-- root/root 1243856 2004-05-26 04:40:27 ./lib/libc-2.3.2.so Could the library be made read/executable again?
