After experimenting a bit with both the test case and the package that
gave me the problem, it turns out that the problem is triggered only by a
unique combination of optimization requests. So here's a working test
case:
1. the file 'gccbug.cc': (turns out no actual code is necessary)

2. the compile command:
g++-3.2 -O2 -pedantic -o libcbug.o -c libcbug.cc
