First of all, it got lost because Ben is no longer the glibc maintainer. Secondly, I will strongly oppose including a patch like this that has not been at least discussed on [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is what he told you to do. It's not as hard to get patches with merit accepted upstream as you seem to think it is; we've been doing it a lot lately. Something which changes the externally visible behavior of stdio has no business being in the Debian patches for something like glibc.
