i just set up two OSM rendering machines based on Debian 11.5 and used the packaged version of ,renderd'. This version however has an ugly memory leak, it consumes as much ram as it can with no limits and there are several reports of it, like: https://github.com/openstreetmap/mod_tile/issues/181 I compiled the latest GIT version of mod_tile, which includes renderd, and this version runs much better than the packaged one, so i would suggest considering an update of the packaged version.
