The "standard" location is the slightly different "/usr/include/c++/3.3.4". Is there a reason for this? This breaks e.g. Intel's C++ compiler icpc 8.1, which by default wants to use the g++ header and library files in order to create binary compatible code. It is arguably Intel's task to make their compiler compatible with g++; however, since in this case Debian seems to be different from what a "standard" g++ install would do, I want to argue that Debian should also use the "standard" include file location. Unless, of course, there is agood reason for begin different. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-686 Locale: LANG=C, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages g++-3.3 depends on: ii gcc-3.3 1:3.3.4-6sarge1.2 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-3.3-base 1:3.3.4-6sarge1.2 The GNU Compiler Collection (base ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libstdc++5-3.3-dev 1:3.3.4-6sarge1.2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 (d -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 272401-done) by bugs.debian.org; 21 May 2005 19:45:29 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat May 21 12:45:29 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from smtp07.web.de [217.72.192.225] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1DZZub-0006xc-00; Sat, 21 May 2005 12:45:29 -0700 Received: from [82.82.220.210] (helo=juist) by smtp07.web.de with asmtp (TLSv1:DES-CBC3-SHA:168) (WEB.DE 4.105 #291) id 1DZZu6-0003Ul-00 for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Sat, 21 May 2005 21:44:58 +0200 Received: from falk by juist with local (Exim 4.50) id 1DZZu7-0002gZ-3p for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Sat, 21 May 2005 21:44:59 +0200 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Bug#272401: g++-3.3: Nonstandard location for stdlibc++ header files From: Falk Hueffner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Face: "iUeUu$b*W_"w?tV83Y3*r:`rh&dRv}$YnZ3,LVeCZSYVuf[Gpo*5%_=/\_!gc_,SS}[~xZ wY77I-M)xHIx:2f56g%/`SOw"Dx%4Xq0&f\Tj~>|QR|vGlU}TBYhiG(K:2<T^ Date: Sat, 21 May 2005 21:44:59 +0200 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Gnus/5.1006 (Gnus v5.10.6) XEmacs/21.5 (cilantro, linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-Spam-Level: Hi, since there is a good reason for this, and this simply seems to be sloppy coding in icc, I'll close this. -- Falk -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
