gcc 3.2 3.2.2-0-pre8, currently available from http://incoming.debian.org/ fixes the libc12-dev dependency issue.
I did download the packages but I did have to force configuration since theere are cyclic references between the compiler and the libs (the same is true for the C++ compiler).
