Yeah, I know :( I managed to track some more stuff down, but not enough to make a proper bugreport: - the bug only appears when compiling with optimization on. (and maybe with -g as well; I'll check that) - it is only triggered if I #include apt-pkg/pkgcache.h BEFORE the internal file pkg_hier.h. If I reverse the order of those includes, compilation proceeds without problems.
