Hi folks,

I would like to share some experiences I made last week with Debian Edu v11.

Thanks for testing Debian Edu and sharing your experiences. Unfortunately, your tests of Debian Edu 11 address code that is nearly 3 years old.

Esp. the whole LTSP related stuff had been tremendously changed back then between Debian 10 and 11 and this happened +/- last minute before the Debian 11 freeze. So, not everything could be delivered in a perfect state (it seems).

With Debian Edu 12 (see my call for testing email for ISO images based on Debian 12.5), several of the LTSP thinclient woes have been addressed and amended. We think that, at least.

So instead of diving into your test report, can I kindly, shyly ask you to re-do all your tests based on the Debian Edu 12 ISO images? Because then your test results can have a direct impact on Debian Edu (12) and we can fix problems with the upcoming Debian (Edu) 12.6 point release. We won't fix issues that occur in Debian Edu 11 anymore (the day only has 24hrs, etc.).

From our perspective, Debian Edu 12 is ready for being announced, but we didn't want to do it without any third party testings. You seem to be one ideal candidate for this?

I hope you are open to redoing all your tests. Hoping for it and looking forward to a test result email from you similar to the one you just sent.
