If interested in the development of tools for building liveCDs (and other general tools for Custom Debian Distros) I suggest you subscribe to debian-custom, and also look at the archive of that list (other tools have been mentioned recently). In the future, I suggest pointing to interesting discussions on other lists, rather than discussing it here.
