Agreed. But slapd is pretty complex already, so even if the improvements required by Debian Edu is useful to others as well, the slapd maintainers may be hesitant to adopt them. And same goes for all the other packages Debian Edu currently overrule the default config for. I agree that the long term solution is to convince the package maintainers to adopt (ways to apply) the changes needed by Debian Edu. But that takes time. And meanwhile Debian Edu probably finds new useful places to tweak, which again takes time to convince package maintainers to do.... - Jonas - -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist og Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ - Enden er nær: http://www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCt0OMn7DbMsAkQLgRAinXAKCc9xMOBWMC7bq1o87MjMlgwfL0WgCdGQ3R l405rPfZM0PTh+Weay7FD5Y= =Oloe -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
