Package: dpkg Version: 1.10.9 Severity: wishlist Hi !
I use very often sdiff to merge existing configuration-files with new files. If I install packages with apt-get, and there is a new configuration-file included in the package, i will get a prompt which askes me which release of the configfile i would like to use. >sdiff --output=new.cfg old.cfg maintainer.cfg This tool starts a interactive mode, which helps to merge the mainter-file with the existing, and saves the merge to new.cfg. Maybe this would be a nice additional alternative for choosig what to do with the confog-file :-) (Surely - a backup backup of the old one should also be included :-)) Best regards Marc Schoechlin -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux dragan 2.4.20 #1 Son Dez 22 18:54:47 CET 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=de_DE, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Versions of packages dpkg depends on: ii dselect 1.10.9 a user tool to manage Debian packa ii libc6 2.3.1-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an
