hello debian developers, i am new to this list. i have been following it for the past week or so (as suggested on the debian web help page) to learn more about how the process works and how i might be able to contribute to debian in the future. i think you guys and gals are doing wonderful work!
in the meantime i have a problem i am hoping y'all might be able to help me with. i have already posted the question to the -users list, but have not received any replies. i would like to install debian on a dell poweredge 4300 with a PERC/2 SC raid scsi controller from AMI. as far as i know there is no support during a debian installation for this card. there is support for this from red hat for their installation, however i would prefer to use debian. there is a driver available from the manufacturer of this card, however it does not appear to be on any debian installation media or software. is there support planned for this card during installation in the future, or is there some way currently, to bootstrap to a point where i can install the driver? tips, suggestions, rtfms with a pointer to the fm are all welcome. your help would be greately appreciated. if this is not the right list to post this question to, i apologize and would appreciate a pointer to the correct forum to address this issue. thanks in advance, //daryl -- Daryl Williams Network Administrator mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ShareWave, Inc.
