Hi,

My name is Jeremy Soller, and I am Principal Engineer at System76. We released
a statement on Age Verification laws last Thursday that you can read here:

Our Founder and CEO, Carl Richell, was able to get a meeting with Senator Matt
Ball today to discuss the Colorado version of the California bill, SB26-051.
His statements after the meeting are as follows:

By his foolish, childish begging to rapist daddy and and lobbying *FOR*
this treasonist bill, he did even *MORE* damage.

Note that the alleged "FOSS exception" is none. Most FOSS licenses just
aren't excluded from the spyware demands.

The right way would have been standing up straigt and fight this tyranny
by all means. Not kneeling down and begging for a little bit less
punishment. He didn't learn the lessons of 1776.

Frankly, as a company that's allegedly FOSS-focused, he also did massive
harm to his own reputation. We just can't trust this company anymore,
it's all gone. Now it's just one of dozens arbitrary HW vendors, and a
very expensive one.

I have no reason to even consider buying anything from them anymore.
But rather some arbitrary chinese bullshit, because they're honestly
bullshit and don't even try to pretend anything else.

At this time, we are seeing what kinds of changes might be made to these laws before they become effective.

The only acceptable change is full deletion. And criminal charges for
treason for anybody who participated in that coup. (and yes, including
the the whole Zuckerberg clique). Anything less doesn't help restoring
the constitutional order.

We and our users greatly value our privacy,

See above. Can't believe you anymore.
Anybody who bends the knee before tyrants just cannot be trusted.
