Hello!

I've been maintaining the smokeping package for a number of years now and the more time passes the less I can find the energy to work on the package.

I'm currently the only person maintaining this package and I know that it is being used by some folks across debian and its derivatives. I'm also not a DD or DM so every time I need to push an update I have to find someone to sponsor my uploads, which slows down my motivation.

So I'd like to open up the door for co-maintenance. I would like to continue to do some work on it as I can, but I would appreciate some help for more timely updates in some cases.

smokeping is generally a software that doesn't have new features developped anymore. However, upstream still regularly accepts patches to fix bus and it does happen sometimes that a new release is made to release those fixes. So it's generally a low-maintenance package.

smokeping is a daemon and fastcgi-based web application written in perl that polls some network targets and uses rrdtools by the same author to generate latency and availability graphs.

cheers!
