I wrote to the Community Team about this. Steve McIntyre, for the
team, wrote me a very helpful clear and direct message which, frankly,
basically agrees with you.
So, I apologise. I'm also sorry that I lacked awareness of the impact
of my approach.
I am going to step away from this conversation now. In the longer
term I need to reflect on how I can do better, before I get involved
again in such conversations (especially here on the mailing lists).
