Btw, folks, the term is deprecated.  Note that there isn't an 'i'.  It
means (loosely) "It's still around but don't use it.  It's going away in
the future."  Depreciated is a financial term...

I've just seen this in too many messages over too long of a time to
allow it to go on without comment.
