I have had a go, thought this would be a good way to understand things

It needs some review -- i think it works, and it passes all the tests,
neither the documentation (or pipes, subprocess or in the gbp code) were
extensive on what was meant to happen/how things work.

I will have a look at this as well, although i didnt find the docs to be
confusing or incomplete for simple tasks so far.
