Hi, slim came up as Bug of the Day[1] candidate recently. Since that package seemed of some importance I've answered the bug report about new upstream version[3]. This triggered the following interesting response:

I've checked Gentoo and Fedora and found these are using the said fork as well. I tried to import single commits of the Devuan Git into the repository I've created[2] for the purpose of salvaging this package. I admit I do not really want to put this package on my own stack of packages but rather like to povide some starting point. This mail is rather a 1. Ping to the Maintainers / Uploaders of this package (I just removed one Uploader where my first mail was bouncing) 2. Call for volunteers who might either help the Maintainers or salvage the package in case they will not show any interest any more 3. Call for a decision what code base we want to maintain 4. Question whether we need slim at all (which was once answered negatively[4]). We have 327 real votes from popcon[5] which is more than typical removal candidates so some users would suffer. No idea whether this might increase with the slim-fork. If we do nothing I expect continued decrease of active usage. Kind regards Andreas.
