I know of at least two companies where the techies were quite happy
with Debian (and delivered low cost and high availability with it),
and then the non-technical management decided to move to Red Hat
(because there is no support for Debian [meaning "no support with the
official Debian label on it", disregarding the fact that you can buy
superior Debian support all over the globe]), did the migration,
fainted over the first Red Hat bill and promptly migrated over to
CentOS (which has the same support situation as Debian).

Never expect any kind of reasonable decision from enterprise IT
management. You can only earn disappointment.

Ubuntu never cared about Debian. They just take our work and the
praise.
