I only stated that the Debian BTS feels like stone age - but i see no replacement for when i look into things like Gitlab or Gitlab "bugtracking" - i suggest we should only discuss possible git workflows here - gbp is already invented, switched all my packages to. The only thing i don't use right now is the changelog functionality, this will come later. And with right written commits it should work well with the Debian BTS - so best of both worlds.
