This is a very *poor* migration guide and sentences like "In other words, look at the 1.1 code and add the missing functions into your source. " are not very helpful to a person who is just a maintainer and not a full upstream developer who worked with OpenSSL before. My experience with porting is not as happy as your initial email might be as the upstream packages usually want to keep 1.0.0 compatibility together with 1.1.0 compatibility and it's a hell lot of work. Perhaps I am the unlucky one that doesn't fall into "most packages", but from what I've seen so far I am not happy that this happened so deep into release cycle.
