You put me in an awkward position. My email was an attempt to get this discussion shut down on -devel, where it is off-topic and a total waste of energy. But your response, using phrases like `dead horse', invites me to list what I see as continuing provocations (by the victorious camp) which in my mind make the need for a GR, along the lines proposed by Matthew earlier in the year, perhaps even more urgent than before. I'm well aware that I lost the (fixed) vote and that I'm in a minority and that some of the principles I care about are going to be trampled into the dust. There's no need to rub it in quite so much.
