By the way my issue seems to be a DNS issue with one specific hostname

reproduced on the builder AND on zelenka (s390) but nowhere else (!)

Received 44 bytes from 127.0.0.1#53 in 6 ms
And now it appears to work. I am puzzled.
If anyone had weird DNS issues on s390, please do not hesitate to
elaborate :)
The zone in question uses DNSSEC. But then what weasel said…
