Well, I should probably have worded the conditional clause in that sentence to make my point more clearly -- i.e.: Given that the options other than XFCE that people are advocating here (Gnome and KDE) don't actually fit on CD#1, there is very little point trying to decide which of them you might want, since you cannot have either of them.
