The firmware can be installed on the robot control bricks of types RCX and NXT. It is almost identical to the original firmware, meaning that all existing software working with the original firmware can be expected to work with the improved firmware as well. The main differences between the original firmware and the improved firmware are the addition of absolute position regulation for motors and that it can be built with GCC rather than the non-free toolchain used by the LEGO® Group.
