This is an excellent example for a valid reason to have a ppa-alike service for Debian with a buildd network behind to not having everybody to build it's own (limited) buildd infrastructure like debmon.org and others. Having my old buildd up and keeping it running, I can tell you that maintaining everybody it's own is a huge wast of time and resources.
