That's a possibility, yes. If OTOH you only want to check for installability, you might simply run dose-distcheck on the involved packages (similarly to what the buildds do, except they do that for build dependencies, while you likely want to do that for binary package dependencies). Doing so might be simpler than having to support other britney runs/installations.
