I agree - classifying a bug is just a first step before I do anything more about an issue > What we need is someone who can reliably reproduce the issue and > help with debugging. > > Fwiw, in wheezy, the relevant GNOME power management bits are all > in the power plugin in gnome-settings-daemon, so > gnome-power-manager would be the wrong component for this bug > anyway (when talking about wheezy). Thanks for this suggestion. As noted in the bug, I checked the settings using the CLI tool `gsettings'. The GUI control panel doesn't expose access to those settings. Another reason I brought this to debian-devel is that there has been debate about lid closing/suspend in the Gnome community and their policy change in Gnome 3 appears to first hit Debian users with wheezy. Looking at the system, I found /var/log/pm-suspend.log and I notice it logs activity at 9:40 am yesterday (laptop woken from suspend) It doesn't log anything in the evening at the time it overheated - the next log entry is at 9:25am today when it went into suspend again. So it appears it didn't even try to suspend when the lid closed last night and overheated (Mar 27 19:20): Wed Mar 27 09:40:14 CET 2013: Finished.
