I agree. This is often seen in package descriptions, for example http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=657196 But I think the second person should generally be avoided as much as possible. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Second-person_pronouns
   However, I agree entirely with the
recommendation in the developer's reference to avoid "I" or "we".
