And look at the dates of those two examples. They're *old*, they're not (thankfully :p) even what I am using anymore. Also old. And autopoint is not autoconf, that script is for autoconf, automake and libtool. When it was written, there was still "gettext"... But it is actually a very large petard, it might just do it. You will notice you have to really know what you're doing for that script to work well. Patches accepted.
