It works (as far as I know - I'm not a biologist as well) for DNA and protein sequences. In principle I agree with you that the short description is a bit too short for non-experts but a longer wording would blast the limit of letters for a *short* description. But you are correct and I'll foreward this problems to our experts on Debian Med list to find a reasonable compromise. Kind regards and thanks for the hint.
