The Opus codec is the next evolution of CELT, currently being developed by an IETF working group. It is anticipated that this will replace CELT when that work is complete. For various reasons this package won't be uploaded just yet, but I'm filing the ITP now to assure everyone that it will be, as soon as that is actually possible to do. The future of the existing celt package will be assessed when that happens (but there will be a transition period for existing apps which depend on it whichever way that goes).
