So maybe these transient homepages (remember they only show up when the xulrunner version changes, which won't happen in squeeze stable/security updates or when running iceweasel for the first time) should just thank users, and point to some useful links/rss feeds and be done with it.
On the other hand, they could be modeled to become actually usefull standard home pages with a search box and interesting links to help follow Debian or Mozilla development, i.e. something that users might actually want to keep as their home page. I remember that this was actually the case for Debian mozilla packages long ago.
