Mac OS X, too, BTW. But that's not what I wanted to say.

I wanted to say that I consider it a disadvantage that [e]glibc persists on the one part of RFC 1035 that forbids labels to start or end with hyphens, while in turn allowing labels to start with digits, which is forbidden by the very same RFC.

At the time of my writing I did not know this standard was updated.
