Hi Colin, why did you reassign 538022 to general? From reading "If we want to extend PAGER in general, then I'm willing to revisit this." in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=149;bug=538022 I understand you want the projects opinion on whether man should implement this? If I got that correctly, I think the bug should be reassigned to man - and the project can still discuss this.
Else, please explain what's the general bug to track here.
