I don't think that anyone was every seriously defending that people do uploads just to bump the Standards-Version, I think the objection was more that bumping the Standards-Version needlessly clutters the changelog and wastes space. I'll admit I don't quite understand why, though. It's up to the maintainer to be as verbose as he or she feels there. Daniel
