Hi, I have updated "Debian Reference" (English) in unstable with major change in its contents: http://people.debian.org/~osamu/pub/getwiki/html/index.html
I have one question and generic request for review. * question What is the next release name after lenny? * generic request for review: Debian lacks documentation efforts partly because very dynamic nature of its distribution. Partly because its ... (I will refrain...). Since it is major change, I would like to get feed back from its Developer community. I am very much concerned on the contents in: * 3. Debian package management: http://people.debian.org/~osamu/pub/getwiki/html/ch10.en.html#thekernel * 10.5. The kernel: http://people.debian.org/~osamu/pub/getwiki/html/ch10.en.html#thekernel I know one of the bad side effect of Debian Reference was use of apt_preferences by the novice user. I hope I have fixed that misunderstanding as much with this updates. I also see too many documents encourage using /etc/apt/preferences when they do not need it since archive is "NotAutomatic: yes" which sets Pin-Priority to 1 (undocumented in apt_preferences. Bug#490347) If you find a minor bugs such as spelling, plural usage, etc., please go directly to upstream work space at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianReference/ to fix them. If you do not agree on its technical contents, please file bug against debian-reference package. Best regards, Osamu -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
